Pink in vegetable tanned leather is rare, and the reason is technical: the tannins are brown, and getting a clean pink over brown takes a tannery that knows what it is doing. Ours is a soft, dusty pink, closer to a dried rose than to a sweet, and it is one of the colours we are proudest of.
We make it on its own on the Keychain, and more often next to another colour: cognac, red, safari green. Here is the full range, for women and for men.
Every pink piece in one place
Seven pieces across five models. One in solid pink, six where pink meets a second colour.
Pink and cognac
The gentlest way in. Cognac is the classic leather colour and pink is the surprise next to it, on the Cardholder and the MacBook Sleeve. The Cardholder in cognac and pink is one of our most-gifted pieces, because it suits almost anyone and is clearly not something they already own.
Pink and red
The boldest. A hot red against the soft pink, two tones from the same family, on the Slim Wallet and the Zip Wallet. It is the piece that gets picked up off a café table.
Pink and safari
Our favourite. Safari is a soft sage green, and next to the dusty pink it makes a pairing that is calm, unexpected and very hard to find anywhere else. On the Slim Wallet and Zip Wallet. The Keychain in solid pink, €25, matches all three pairings.
How the leather ages
Pink vegetable tanned leather warms with age. The dusty pink takes on a slightly peachier tone over the first year, with a sheen where it is handled, and the places you touch most go a shade deeper. Next to cognac or red it ages in step with its partner; next to safari, both soften together. It does not fade to white, and it does not stain the way a pale chrome-tanned pink can.
Every piece is cut from Italian vegetable tanned leather from the Tempesti tannery in Tuscany, then stitched and finished by hand in a single atelier near Braga, in the north of Portugal. The edges are painted by hand, the logo is stamped in gold, and every wallet arrives in a presentation box. We design everything in Brussels.
Who pink is for
If it is a gift for a woman. The Cognac and Pink Cardholder, €75, in a presentation box.
If it is a gift for a couple. Two Cardholders, same pairing; the shape is unisex and the colour works both ways.
If you are a man who wants one soft colour. Pink and safari. The green does the talking and the pink does the listening.
If you want the full effect. Red and pink.

Frequently asked questions
What shade of pink is the leather?
A soft, dusty pink, closer to a dried rose than to a sweet. It is dyed through Italian vegetable tanned leather, which is unusual, because the tannins are brown and a clean pink is hard to achieve.
Does pink leather stain or fade?
Vegetable tanned pink warms slightly towards peach with use and takes on a sheen where it is handled. The colour is in the hide, so it does not fade to white, and it does not stain the way a pale chrome-tanned pink can.
Is a pink wallet only for women?
No. The Cardholder shape is unisex, and the pink and safari Slim Wallet and Zip Wallet are bought by men as often as by women. Pink next to sage green or cognac reads as a colour choice, not a gendered one.
Which pink wallet makes the best gift?
The Cognac and Pink Cardholder, €75: small, slim, holds up to six cards, and arrives in a presentation box. The Keychain in pink at €25 is the smaller option.
Which Escuyer pieces come in pink?
The Keychain in solid pink; the Cardholder and MacBook Sleeve in cognac and pink; the Slim Wallet and Zip Wallet in red and pink; and the Slim Wallet and Zip Wallet in pink and safari.
Escuyer. Considered design, made to last.
