Red is the oldest colour in small leather goods after brown, and it has never gone out of fashion because it never quite came in. A red wallet is a classic for women and a quiet statement for men, and in vegetable tanned leather it has a depth that chrome-tanned red, which tends to look like plastic, never gets.
We make two reds, a clear one and a burgundy, and we pair red with pink on two of our favourite two-tone pieces. Here is the whole range.
Every red piece in one place
Seven pieces across five models. Three in solid red, four where red or burgundy meets a second colour.
Red
A clean, confident red, closer to a postbox than to a cherry. It is on the Card Sleeve, the Cardholder and the Zip Wallet. The Cardholder in red is one of the pieces we are asked for most as a gift for a woman, and the Card Sleeve is the same colour at €55.
Burgundy
Burgundy is red with the lights turned down: deep, slightly purple, the colour of the wine. On its own it would be a classic; we use it next to red, so the two shades of the same colour sit side by side on the Burgundy and Red Zip Wallet and the Red and Burgundy MacBook Sleeve. From across the room it is one colour; up close it is a decision.
Red and pink
Our boldest pairing, and one of the most popular. A hot red against a soft pink on the Slim Wallet and the Zip Wallet. Two tones from the same family, one loud and one quiet, each making the other look better. It is the piece on a café table that people pick up to look at.
How the leather ages
Red vegetable tanned leather darkens towards burgundy with time, which is why the two look so good together: a red wallet is slowly becoming the colour next to it. The surface takes on a sheen, and the edges and folds go a shade deeper than the flat panels. Pink warms slightly and does the same. Nothing cracks or peels.
Every piece is cut from Italian vegetable tanned leather from the Tempesti tannery in Tuscany, then stitched and finished by hand in a single atelier near Braga, in the north of Portugal. The edges are painted by hand, the logo is stamped in gold, and every wallet arrives in a presentation box. We design everything in Brussels.
Which red to choose
If it is a gift for a woman. The Cardholder in red, €75, in a presentation box. It is the piece we would start with.
If it is for a man. The Burgundy and Red Zip Wallet, or the Red Card Sleeve for someone who carries four cards and nothing else.
If you want the colour to be the point. Red and pink. It is not subtle and it is not meant to be.
If you want red for a laptop. The Red and Burgundy MacBook Sleeve, €175, is the only sleeve we make in this colour.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between red and burgundy leather?
Red is a clear, bright red, close to a postbox. Burgundy is deeper and slightly purple, the colour of the wine. We use red on its own and burgundy next to red on the Zip Wallet and MacBook Sleeve.
Does red leather darken?
Yes. Red vegetable tanned leather deepens towards burgundy over time, with a sheen where it is handled and darker edges and folds. The colour is dyed through the hide, so it does not fade or wear off.
Which red wallet makes the best gift for a woman?
The Cardholder in red, €75. It is small, slim, unisex in shape, holds up to six cards with a section for folded notes, and arrives in a presentation box. The Card Sleeve in red at €55 is the smaller option.
Do you make a red wallet for coins?
Yes. The Zip Wallet comes in solid red, in burgundy and red, and in pink and red. It zips on three sides and has an open compartment for coins and notes with a card slot inside.
Is the red leather vegetable tanned?
Yes. All red and burgundy pieces are cut from Italian vegetable tanned leather from the Tempesti tannery in Tuscany and made by hand in a single atelier in Portugal.
